Master's joint with the Siauliai University (Lithuania) study programme Regional Development and Governance.

Master's joint with the Siauliai University (Lithuania) study programme Regional Development and Governance is designed for individuals who have obtained higher university-kind education and aiming to obtain expert-analytical competences needed for work in state and self-governance institutions forming and implementing public policy, in the private sector actively collaborating with these institutions.

During Master's studies, it is aimed complex integration and deepening of analytical competences of research organisation, management and implementation of processes of public, especially sustainable regional development, social and economic policy which would enable participation in implementation of regional development policy, consolidation of regional cohesion this way benefiting to socioeconomic development of (own) region and increase of its competitiveness.

The aim of the Programme is to educate high qualification specialists-experts and analysts on public administration who are able to complexly integrate fundamental knowledge on public governance and regional development as well as abilities of scientific research and expert activities for preparation and implementation of programmes on regional development. With regard to the features of change and perspectives in regional development and governance, strategic aims of sustainable development regions, world tendencies in implementation of the new public governance paradigm in public administration.

Students will be able to:- professionally investigate, analyse and complexly solve challenges of the EU and states' regional development and governance, to intellectually, clearly and professionally render theories of regional development and introduce conclusions, to work out and implement programmes on regional development, to suggestively argue recommendations to auditoria of both specialists and non-specialists, to assess results of own and others' performance, to consult on issues of perfection of performance and implementation of innovations;- complexly integrate knowledge on regional development and governance when meeting the public interest and making innovative solutions based on democratic values and civic spirit concerning creation of public welfare of regions and its governance, foreseeing possibilities for application of these solutions in the EU and world context;- critically and systemically assess regional development processes and regional governance tendencies on local and international levels, to foresee governance changes, to assess alternative options of solutions and possible their social and ethical consequences;- creatively implement innovations in fields of own professional performance and to improve learning skills necessary to continue completely independent studying.
